Mechanical Design & Analysis Engineer (Solidworks)

Hours: 37.5/week (Flexible, core hours 09:00–16:00)

ASL Technical is proud to be working in partnership with a leading manufacturer of heavy-duty specialist vehicles, supporting the search for a skilled Mechanical Design & Analysis Engineer. This is a key role focused on enhancing structural performance, reducing weight, and improving product reliability for large truck-mounted equipment.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform FEA Analysis simulations to optimise strength, weight, and durability.
• Design metal assemblies using SolidWorks and ensure compliance with ISO standards.
• Validate simulation results with hand calculations and support peer reviews.
• Create and maintain CAD drawings, BOMs, and engineering documentation.
• Support product development from concept to production.
• Carry out risk assessments and contribute to cost-reduction initiatives.
• Mentor engineers on analysis tools and techniques.

Requirements

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar.
• Strong understanding of structural analysis methods.
• Proficient in SolidWorks and Microsoft Office.
• Able to interpret and verify simulation data.
• Collaborative, organised, and capable of managing priorities.
