ASL Technical Ltd’s primary business is in the recruitment sector helping candidates find suitable employment and clients fulfil vacancies by providing contingency, retained advertising and sifting services as well as other HR related services we provide from time to time. ASL Technical Ltd operates as an Employment Business and Employment Agency as defined in the Employment Agency Act 1973.
This document will outline what happens to any personal data you provide to us or that we collect for the purpose of operating the business as defined above.

In addition to this our website uses cookies – small text files that are placed on your machine to help us provide a better user experience. How we use this information
The information we collect is used to assist us with providing you with recruitment services. We may use it to help assess your suitability to vacancies and provide you with job opportunities and career advice. We will additionally use it for the purpose of operating payroll and HR systems including providing you with payments, payslips and tax documentation. We may further use the information held to respond to enquiries, manage client relationships and analyse data trends.
Where we store your personal data
All information stored on our recruitment software is secured through the Microsoft Azure Infrastructure and located at two data centre locations within Europe. Our primary centre is located in Microsoft’s Western European centre, and these facilities are secured by a series of measures, including (but not limited to) biometric access, security alarm systems and round-the-clock security staff. Information we may share
We only share your data for the purposes of delivering recruitment services to you. As such, we may share your information with clients or organisations with whom we are working to help provide you with employment opportunities or to process your payments for work provided.
We may from time to time share your data in connection with a legitimate enquiry from a government body or department. This will only be done where we are required to do so by law.
We will never share your data with a third party for marketing purposes without your consent. Furthermore, we undertake not to sell you data to any third party.
Our legal basis for processing data
In order to assist you in finding work opportunities we will need to store, use and from time to time, share your data as defined in this document. ASL Technical Ltd will provide you with a copy of this document via our website and request your consent. Consent is the legal basis on which we process your data and it can be withdrawn by contacting us at dataprotection@aslgroup.co.uk. Additionally you can manage the way in which your data is used and we communicate with you via your login to our website.
We may continue to process your data where we are required to do so for some other legal or contractual reason. This may apply for example where you have worked for us and we are required by law to retain records for tax purposes.
How long we keep your data for
We retain different types of data for differing periods of time. The criteria we use to determine whether we should retain your personal data and how long for includes:

- The perceived accuracy of your data
- Your engagement levels with our services
- Our legal obligations following an offer or when a placement has been made
We may archive part or all of your personal data, or retain it on our financial systems but delete all or part of it from our recruitment software system. On removal, we may anonymise parts of your data – particularly following a request for suppression or deletion of your data – to ensure we do not re-enter your personal data to our database, unless you have requested us to do so.
Our current retention period for data on candidates who have not been placed, or are no longer showing any signs of engagement with our website, is 2 years.

- The right to erasure of your personal data in certain circumstances
