Job Title: Test & Development Engineer – Automotive Sector

ASL Technical are recruiting on behalf of a leading automotive customer for an experienced Test & Development Engineer to join their dynamic team.

In this role, you’ll take ownership of the testing and development of key vehicle components, ensuring they meet time, cost, quality, and specification targets. This is a hands-on, technically challenging position with a strong focus on precision, accountability, and performance validation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Create and deliver test plans for component verification and validation

• Set up and run development tests, producing detailed technical reports

• Develop new test rigs and fixtures, and liaise with external test centres where required

• Maintain accurate test records and provide regular progress reports

• Support colleagues’ testing needs and contribute to continuous improvement

Skills & Experience:

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in vehicle or machinery testing to ISO standards

• Strong technical reporting and test equipment development skills

• Experience with hydraulic/pneumatic test rigs and electrical test setups

• Excellent communication and organisational skills
