Stores & Inventory Coordinator

We are hiring for a versatile Stores & Inventory Coordinator, this person supports the efficient flow of materials throughout the business by ensuring goods are accurately received, inspected, stored, issued and dispatched. The role plays an important part in maintaining inventory accuracy, product traceability and operational efficiency whilst supporting manufacturing, customer deliveries and the Quality Management System. You will work closely with Procurement, Production, Engineering and Quality, the role helps ensure materials, inventory records and supporting documentation are accurate, compliant and available when required.

The Stores & Inventory Coordinator is responsible for carrying out the day-to-day stores and inventory activities that support manufacturing and customer operations. This includes Goods In inspection, inventory control, material traceability, manufacturing support and customer order fulfilment.

This position would suit someone who prefers to be the central point of contact for a role, where they wear a number of "hats" and get involved in the physical stores management but also are a key member of the production team, flagging to purchasing any issues arising from quality, or stock, it requires someone very confident who has worked in a similar for for minimum 3 years. You must be PC literate with confident experience of ERP and able to navigate excel. 

Goods In, Inspection & Material Control

  • Receive, inspect and accurately receipt incoming deliveries into ERP System.
  • Verify quantities, part numbers, delivery documentation and purchase order details.
  • Check drawing revision levels where applicable and report any discrepancies before materials are accepted into stock.
  • Verify Certificates of Conformity (CoCs), material certificates and other required supplier documentation are received and meet company requirements.
  • Identify, quarantine and report damaged, incorrect or non-conforming materials in accordance with company procedures.
  • Ensure incoming materials are correctly labelled, identified and stored in designated locations.
  • Raise Change Requests (CRs) where drawing inaccuracies or opportunities for improvement are identified during Goods In inspection.

Inventory Management

  • Maintain accurate inventory records through timely and accurate stock transactions within ERP System.
  • Store materials safely, securely and logically to maintain inventory integrity.
  • Carry out routine cycle counts and support annual stocktakes.
  • Investigate and report inventory discrepancies, working collaboratively with Procurement, Production, Engineering and Quality to identify root causes and support corrective actions that improve inventory accuracy.
  • Monitor stock levels and communicate replenishment requirements or potential shortages to Procurement.
  • Process stock adjustments, returns and material movements accurately.
  • Return unused production materials to stock promptly and accurately.

Production Support

  • Accurately pick, label and issue materials for manufacturing orders.
  • Ensure manufacturing teams receive the correct materials in accordance with production schedules.
  • Prioritise material picking to support production requirements and minimise operational delays.
  • Work collaboratively with Production, Procurement and Engineering to resolve material shortages or stock-related issues.

Customer Order Fulfilment

  • Pick, pack and prepare customer orders accurately and efficiently.
  • Verify products, quantities, serial numbers and associated documentation prior to dispatch.
  • Package products securely to minimise the risk of damage during transportation.
  • Support the achievement of on-time customer deliveries through accurate and timely order fulfilment.

Quality, Compliance & Continuous Improvement

  • Maintain accurate inventory records and material traceability in accordance with company procedures.
  • Support compliance applicable quality requirements.
  • Support internal and external audits relating to stores, inventory and traceability.
  • Report non-conformities, process issues and opportunities for improvement.
  • Identify opportunities to improve stores processes, inventory control, layout and operational efficiency.
  • Support the implementation of agreed process improvements.

  • Maintain a clean, organised and safe stores environment.
  • Operate forklifts, pallet trucks and other equipment safely where trained and authorised.
  • Follow all company Health & Safety policies and safe working practices.
  • Report hazards, incidents and unsafe conditions promptly.
  • Ensure work areas, storage locations and equipment are maintained to a high standard.
